Sign-in methods

FocusPilot supports email and password plus Google sign-in. If an OAuth attempt cannot be linked safely, the login page shows the reason instead of silently returning to the form.

A user who originally joined with Google can use the password-reset email to add a password to the same FocusPilot account. Google remains available, so either method can be used afterward.

You stay signed in on a device for 30 days.

Two-factor sign-in

Two-factor sign-in asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Authy and others) after your password. Even someone who learns your password can't get in without your phone. It's required for API keys, MCP tokens and connecting ChatGPT or Claude.

At sign-in, tick Trust this device for 30 days to skip the code on that device for a month. If you've lost your phone, choose Use a backup code; each backup code works once.

Google sign-ins don't ask for a code: Google's own security protects them. To turn on two-factor sign-in if you only use Google, first add a password with Forgot password.

1. 1Open Settings → Account and, under Two-factor sign-in, select Turn on.
2. 2Confirm your password, then scan the QR code with your authenticator app (or type the key shown).
3. 3Enter the 6-digit code the app shows to confirm it works.
4. 4Save the 10 backup codes somewhere safe, such as a password manager. They're shown only once; New backup codes replaces them.

Delete your account

Settings → Account → Danger zone → Delete my account permanently deletes your account (sign-in, password, two-factor sign-in, preferences) and everything in your workspace, including files, API keys and connected apps. Your Google Calendar connection is revoked at Google too. Type DELETE ACCOUNT and your password to confirm; a last email confirms it. It can't be undone.

If you only sign in with Google, add a password first with Forgot password, or email privacy@focuspilot.online and we'll delete it for you.

Want to keep your account but start over? Settings → Workspace → Reset workspace empties the workspace instead.

Verify your email

After signing up with an email and password, FocusPilot asks you to confirm your address before you can use your workspace. The email has two ways to do it: the Verify my email button, or a 6-digit code to type on the Check your email screen. Both work for 24 hours. Google sign-ups are already confirmed.

Can't find the email? Check your spam or junk folder. On the Check your email screen, Send a new email sends a fresh one (use the code from the newest email), and Sign out and start again fixes a mistyped address. After five wrong codes, send a new email to get a fresh code.

Accounts created before verification was required can keep using FocusPilot unverified; a reminder appears in the bell once a week until the address is confirmed.

Change your name, email or password

If you only ever signed in with Google you have no current password: use Forgot password on the login page to set one.

1. 1Open Settings → Account.
2. 2Name: edit it and save.
3. 3Email address: enter the new address. FocusPilot emails a confirmation link; if your current address is verified, the approval link goes to your current address first.
4. 4Password: enter your current password and a new one of at least 8 characters. Changing it signs you out on your other devices.

Recover or change a password

1. 1Select Forgot password on the login page.
2. 2Enter the account email. FocusPilot always shows the same confirmation so it does not reveal whether an account exists.
3. 3Open the link sent to that inbox within one hour and choose a new password.
4. 4Existing sessions are signed out and a security alert is sent. Return to login and use the new password.

Protect your account

• Use a unique password and protect your email or Google account with multifactor authentication.
• Do not share password-reset links, API keys, MCP tokens, private ICS URLs, or booking-management links.
• Disconnect Google Calendar when you no longer want FocusPilot to create booking events.
• Give developer tokens only the scopes they need and revoke unused credentials.
