Organize and improve
Attach files and manage storage
Attach documents, images and screenshots to tasks, goals, notes, trades and finance records, organise them on the Files page, and keep an eye on your storage.

Where you can attach files
- Tasks: open a task and use Attachments.
- Goals: the Files section at the bottom of a goal's page.
- Notes: below the note you're editing.
- Trading: Screenshots & files on a logged trade, and on a day's journal entry once it's created.
- Finance: invoices, payables and clients (when editing them), plus a receipt on each expense.
Attach a file
- 1Open the task, note, goal or record you want to add a file to.
- 2Drag files onto the Attachments area, or select Attach and choose one or more files.
- 3Each file shows its progress, then appears in the list. Images get a small preview.
- 4Select a file to open it (images and PDFs open in a new tab) or use the download button.
Removing a file moves it to the trash, and the message that appears has an Undo button. If the same file is also attached somewhere else, Remove only takes it off this item.
Attach a file you've already uploaded
The same file can be attached to several items without using extra storage.
- 1In any Attachments area, select From Files.
- 2Search for the file, select one or more, and choose Attach.
Browse everything on the Files page
Turn on the Files module in Settings → Modules to get a Files page in the sidebar. It lists every file you've uploaded, wherever it's attached, with links back to the task, note, goal, trade or record it belongs to.
- Upload straight to the Files page with Upload, or by dropping files onto the list.
- Create folders (and folders inside folders) with New folder. Deleting a folder never deletes files: its files and subfolders move up a level.
- Rename a file or move it to another folder with the buttons on its row.
- The list shows 50 files a page, newest first, with page buttons underneath. Search looks through all your files (or the whole trash), not just the page you're on.
- To act on several files at once, select Select, tick the files (or Select all, which picks the files on the current page), then choose Move to… or Delete. In the trash, the same works for Restore and Delete forever. Press Escape to stop selecting.
- Open Trash to restore a deleted file, delete one for good, or empty the trash.
Limits and file types
- Each file can be up to 10 MB, and you have 200 MB of storage in total.
- Allowed: images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC), PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, OpenDocument files, text, CSV and Markdown, zip archives, MP4 and MOV video, and MP3 and M4A audio.
- Files are checked by their contents, not just their name, so a file that isn't what its extension says is refused.
- You can upload up to 3 files at once and 60 in 10 minutes.
- Expense receipts must be a PDF, JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Attaching files doesn't need the Files module; only the Files page does. Invoices, payables and clients take files once they're saved.
Storage and the trash
Settings → Storage shows how much of your 200 MB you're using. Deleted files stay in the trash for 30 days so you can restore them, and they still count toward your storage until then. Empty trash frees the space straight away.
How your files are protected
- Files are private to your workspace. There are no public links, and every download checks that you're signed in to the account that owns the file.
- Only images and PDFs open in your browser. Other files always download, so nothing in an uploaded file can run inside FocusPilot.
- Never upload passwords, recovery codes or payment card details.
