Connect AI tools
Automate FocusPilot with the REST API
Create API keys to connect FocusPilot to Zapier, Make, n8n, scripts and your own apps.

When to use the API
Use the MCP connection when an AI assistant should work with your workspace. Use the REST API for fixed automations: add a task when a form is submitted, send yourself a FocusPilot notification when a build finishes, or sync records with another tool.
Create an API key
- 1Open Settings → Modules and turn on Developers.
- 2Open Developers and go to API keys.
- 3Select Create, name the key after the automation it's for, and grant only the permissions it needs.
- 4Copy the key. It starts with fpk_ and is shown only once.
Example: add a task
Any tool that can send an HTTP request, including Zapier, Make and n8n, can call the API with your key in the Authorization header:
curl -X POST https://focuspilot.online/api/v1/tasks \
-H "Authorization: Bearer fpk_YOUR_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"title":"Follow up with the new lead","priority":"high"}'Example: send yourself a notification
Needs the Notifications permission. It arrives in the bell, and by email or push if you've turned those on for External apps in Settings → Notifications.
curl -X POST https://focuspilot.online/api/v1/notifications \
-H "Authorization: Bearer fpk_YOUR_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"title":"Build finished","body":"The production deployment succeeded."}'Good practice
- Use one key per automation, so you can revoke one without breaking the rest.
- Grant the narrowest permissions that work.
- Keep keys in your automation tool's secret storage, never in shared documents or code.
- Each key can make 120 requests a minute.
