Notifications and emails
Choose which notifications reach you in the app, by email and as push notifications, and when the daily ones arrive.

Choose how each notification reaches you
Open Settings → Notifications. Each notification has three switches: In-app (the bell in the top bar), Email, and Push (a notification on your device). Changes save as you switch them.
New accounts start with every email off; the setup guide asks which ones you'd like. Turn any of them on or off here at any time.
What each notification is
- Start-of-day plan: at the start of your workday, a list of what's scheduled and due today (and anything overdue), with your focus goal.
- No-focus-yet nudge: about 90 minutes into your workday if you haven't started a focus session.
- End-of-day wrap-up: about 30 minutes after your workday ends, with what you completed, your focus minutes and what's due tomorrow. It's skipped on days with nothing done.
- Reminders: the reminders you set, at the time you chose.
- High-priority task reminders: 30 minutes before a high- or urgent-priority task is due.
- Prayer reminders: five minutes before each prayer (in-app and push only; off until you turn it on, and it needs the Prayer times module).
- New bookings and Upcoming meetings: when someone books you, and shortly before a booked meeting (Bookings module).
- Overdue invoices: once, when an invoice passes its due date unpaid (Finance module).
- External apps: notifications your own scripts send through a developer API key.
The three daily notifications (plan, nudge and wrap-up) only start once you've added your first task, and they follow the working hours in Settings → Time & schedule. They pause when you haven't used FocusPilot (on the web, the app, or through ChatGPT or Claude) for 5 days, and start again as soon as you're back.
Turn on push notifications
If it says Blocked, allow notifications for focuspilot.online in your browser's site settings and reload. The Android app asks for its own permission.
- 1On the device you want notified, open Settings → Notifications.
- 2Under Browser notifications, select Turn on and allow notifications when your browser asks.
- 3Repeat on each computer or phone you use. Push is set per device.
Tips when you've been away
If you haven't used FocusPilot for about a week, we may email a short tip about something you haven't tried yet. There are at most three, about two weeks apart, and then no more until you've been back.
Tips only go to people who have at least one email turned on, so turning off all your emails stops them too. Each tip also has a Stop tips link that stops just the tips.
Stop an email from your inbox
Every notification email can be stopped without signing in. Use the Unsubscribe option your email app shows next to the sender (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and others), and that one kind of email is turned off. Everything else stays as it is.
Each email's footer also links to your notification settings, where you can turn it back on.
Emails you always get
A few account emails aren't optional because they're needed to use your account: the welcome email, password resets, email verification and change-of-email confirmations. Guests who book you always get their confirmation and reminders.
